NEW 'CUSTOM' SONG: "Be Patient My Dear "
Debra Kushon approached me about helping her write a song for her friends Rita & Siavash's wedding. She wrote a poem in Farsi and then translated it into English. I tinkered with some of the wording of the English poem to make it rhyme more and fit better into a song structure and then wrote some chords/melodies to go with it. On this recording, Abby Tyrrell, Debra, and I are all contributing to the vocals.

Lyrics:

A dark haired girl, beautiful and happy, always full of joy and benevolence.
One day this girl asks her trusted mother, "when will I finally find my eternal love?"

Her mother strokes her dark hair and tells her,
"Be patient, my love. This type of thing is not up to us. Be patient my dear and one day he will finally find you."

Our dark haired girl grew up. With so many friends she was never alone.
She shed tears of joy at their happy occasions. Still she asks her father, "When will I find my lifelong love?"

Her father strokes her dark hair and tells her,
"Be patient, my love. This type of thing is not up to us. Be patient my dear and one day he will finally find you."

Our dark haired girl finds her way, until one day she finds the one she was waiting for: a man full of laughter, kindness, and caring ... a man who can make her heart flutter with one honest smile.

Siavash looks in Rita's eyes and strokes her hair. He says,
"'Be patient,' they said. 'Don't listen to the doubts in your head.' Be patient, my dear, and now here we are falling in love."

"Your lips are my smile. Your eyes make having vision worthwhile. I can see our present happiness stretching for miles."

Our dark haired girl became a bride today. Be patient my dear 'cause your eternal love's here to stay.
